"Yes Sensei! Tell us the secrets to the martial arts!"
"COME TO CLASS."
This may seem simple enough, but real life often gets in the way. Work. Kids. We're tired. The week is busy. You'll do it tomorrow.
I can't tell you how many times students grudingly drag themselves to class looking like something out of The Walking Dead. They glare at me and list off all the reasons why they almost didn't come in. But then something magical happens. You'd think that by the end of class they'd be even more exhausted and dead. THIS NEVER HAPPENS!
By the end of training students are cheerful and happy. Their energy levels return as those endorphins start working through their system. Plus, the only way to get better and sharper in the martial arts is to practice. Even if you were tired throughout the class, chances are you learned something.
So, the next time you're contemplating your gi versus your fuzzy pajamas, remember the secret to all martial arts training.
